One of the easiest ways to get a certain look on your design is to use textures. You can use almost anything as a texture, the only thing that matters is the texture image needs to be high quality. All you need is a camera and eye for detail to create a killer background. But if you do not have that eye or you do not have the time to create your own textures, you can always look for high quality textures on the web. As a designer, I am constantly changing out my wallpaper. I am always on the lookout for new sources for high quality wallpaper. When looking for new wallpaper, the first thing I like to do is go to my Google Reader and check the design blogs I read everyday. Some of those sites will occasionally post a batch of in creditable wallpaper to choose from. Today I came up lucky and found 3 batches of high quality wallpapers. I will be updating my wallpaper database in a few days and downloading most of these in the near future.

Tools every blogger and social media user should have.
Adobe makes a great line of multimedia editors, but they can be expensive. For the causal user, its even worse. Below are are some tools for everyone to use. What I like about these tools is I do not need to carry a USB portable apps to use on a public machine. There are times when I can’t use my portable apps and I have to find a free online tool to do it. With the list below, bloggers, social media users and web designers can have access to editors for free.
