How to Use CommentLuv When Commenting
In order to take advantage of the CommentLuv network, you need to register your RSS fed URL with comment at CommentLuv. First, you will need will need to register for an account. Next you will then need to fill out your profile and add your feed URL.
NOTE: If you change your feed URL for any reason, you will need to go back to your ComLuv account and change the URL their as well or the ComLuv Plugin will not be able to pull your latest entries.
Once you get your ComLuv account setup, you can start using the ComLuv tool. To find ComLuv enabled sites, do a Google search with your keywords and then type in “CommentLuv Enabled” with it and you will have a better chance to find ComLuv sites. Or you can do a search for CommentLuv Directories. There are a few sites out there that have large lists of sites with the plugin and DoFollow Site.
Once you find a site to comment on, you will need to locate where the CommentLuv option is and activate it. In most cases the plugin will be unchecked and the reader will need to activate it to use it. You can find the CommLuv checkboxes are at the bottom of the comment form. The ComLuv plugin offers several design options so the styling may look different. Below is screenshot of the Comment Field from Famous Bloggers. ![]()
After locating the ComLuv check box, fill out the Name, email, and website field. If you do not fill this out correctly and should be the same one you registered with ComLuv. If not, you will not be able to add another link to the comment field. Once your domain is entered into the correct field, then click on the body part of the comment and enter your comment. When complete go down to the Commentluv box and look and see if your latest blog post is there.
NOTE: Once you click in the comment body field, CommentLuv activates and starts searching for your latest posts. It will tell you if ComLuv can not find your website.
TIP: You can choose from the newest ten posts by clicking on the down arrow. This will activate the drop down menu and you can now choose another post. If you purchase more credits, you can more URLs to this lists.

How has CommentLuv Helped Me?
To me, Commentluv is an important tool a website owner can have. CommentLuv has introduced me to knew bloggers and new sites that I find myself returning to daily. CommentLuv not only helps me find new sites, but helps bring in more traffic.
If you follow a good comment strategy and stick to it, you can easily drive traffic to your site. The one thing to remember is, when commenting, it is hard work, takes time, and you have to have patience. Do not think that once you start using the plugin on your site or commenting on sites with CommentLuv will cause a noticeable difference in traffic and comments. It takes time. You have to build a name for yourself/brand. You will need create comments that are help and will build your influence. Once you establish trust in the blogging world the traffic will flow…

You are right James. The main reason for CommentLuv for me is to be able to get some good relevant comments but also give back to those valuable readers in the form of a link. It’s also a great way to learn about other blogs and network with other bloggers.

I am fairly new to all of this SEO stuff and I am wondering if there is any reason you wouldn’t want to link out to someone else. – providing they are a real person and not a bot or spammer.

Hi Tracy,
In my opinion, having unrelated links isn’t all that bad for your site, but it doesn’t help for SEO. Search Engines are looking for relevant links to authority sites.
If you have a bunch of random links on your site or in your articles, your site might be considered a link farm even if that’s not what you were trying to accomplish.
If you want to add a links pages and it isn’t related to your niche but you think they might be helpful for your readers, I would create a separate link page and have the search engines ignore (not crawl) the page

Charles, you can use CommentLuv with blogger. You can run it through Intense debate comment system. It works great for the blogger platform but I would never use it on a wordpress driven site.

True, James. For me, my blogging activity didnt start at the time I made my first blog post, but all started with CommentLuv. I met a lot of great bloggers while driving traffic to my site, and its a win-win for both commenter and blogger.

Same, but its not all that bad of idea to start posting before commenting on other sites. Waiting a little gives your site a little more content for users to read.
As for the comments using comluv, hows your traffic, what kind of numbers are you getting?

I highly recommend using Commentluv also. I also encourage people to remove the nofollow tag from their comments. There isn’t the same incentive as there was a couple years ago for using nofollow. You just have to be a little careful about putting in a spam filter to minimize abusers.
Kathy recently posted..Why Are You Still Using No Follow On Your Blog Comments

I agree, DoFollow goes great with comluv but you do get more spam. thats why I removed the DoFollow Banner and added a DoFollow Plugin that I setup so a new visitor does not abuse the system. Once they are around for certain amount of comments they go dofollow.

I really love this Plugin;
I remember when it first hit the scene. I had installed it on my main blog, and quickly added it to my other blogs. I really enjoyed that I could “give back” to my community by allowing them to link back to their last post.
Over time its simply gotten better since now you can choose among ten posts, if you register at the comluv.com website.

Hi James, I have CommentLuv installed on my Blogger blog as a plugin for Intense Debate. I was surprised to find that the links were automatically DoFollow and I quickly added the blog to Kristie’s DoFollow directory. I also did a couple of posts recently, one is about adding default links and the other is a troubleshooting post that shows how to remove splices (like delicious bookmarks) from your feed.
I’m proud to be part of the CommentLuv network! Thank you.

Guess I will be purchasing a theme soon. (sigh) Will it be easier?

Hi James,
This is a really great tutorial describing how to use CommentLuv and why it’s a great plugin. There is an incredible community of CommentLuv bloggers that really seems to stick together. Not only does it spark conversation, but it’s a courteous way to thank people for taking the time to comment. By far my favorite plugin I use. Thanks for posting the helpful article!

ComLuv is a fantastic tool which I have been using for my sites keyword link building campaigns. Your sites receive great quality backlinks from high PR sites just like this one. All links are Do Follow and what is also great it that most site cache you link so that your link doesn’t disappear in a couple of weeks.
Well Done and a big thank you to Andy Bailey CommentLuv founder.
