So are you a WordPress user, WordPress tutorial creator, or just looking for some great WordPress resources? If you are, then I found the place for you. This site is a new site and is only about a month old. But it already has over a hundred members and most are using the site regularly. The site is WordPress Junkies. WordPress Junkies is a WordPress only social bookmarking site and blog. What this means, is you will only find articles and resources related to WordPress.

Wordpress Junkies: WordPress social media bookmarking and resources

How Does Social Bookmarking Work

If you are unfamiliar with social bookmarking, let me explain. Social bookmarking is type of social media, where you market your articles on a social network by submitting them to a site where others can vote up or vote down the articles. Think of Digg but on a smaller scale and you get a better chance to get  your article to the front page. Although most social bookmarking sites are very small, you still can get a good amount of traffic from these sites.

How To Get Traffic from Social Bookmarking

Getting traffic from social bookmarking sites can be easy, but you have to work at it. It takes time to start getting traffic from these sites. You need to spend time there daily. You have to vote on articles, comment on the submissions and comment on the actual article sites. If you submit and run, then you will almost never make it to the front page.

Make sure to add your picture and fill out your bio. This will also help out some. If the users know you are a real person and not a spammer trying to trick you into voting and visit the spam site they will be more trustful and will vote and visit you site.

Benefits of Social Bookmarking

  • Generating traffic
  • Networking with other bloggers
  • Finding knew content
  • Getting backlinks. Most of the older social bookmarking sites have a Google page rank of 4 or higher.
  • Most social bookmarking sites are dofollow

Final Thoughts

WordPress Junkies is a great site. It is a very new site but is run by two great marketers, Michele from NewBizBlogger and Ditesco from iBlogZone, and should turn out to be a very successful and useful sites for everyone who wants to learn more about WordPress.

As for sites like WordPress Junkies, there are only a few social bookmarking sites like it. But the difference is, those sites have failed or they do not have the marketing skills that comes with WordPress Junkies site. Another great feature of the site is they have setup a WordPress only blog. There aren’t that many articles, but they are accepting guest articles if you want to write a guest article about WordPress.

If you are a WordPress fan or looking for more information on WordPress, then check out WordPress Junkies and join the community. If you are already a member, tell us what you think about the site.

  1. It is interesting that there is a WordPress niche social bookmarking. It would be a great help for people that want to find the specific WordPress information.

    • Hi Dana, WordPress Junkies was created for those looking for needing resources for WordPress. So far the site is getting a fair amount of traffic and is getting better daily.

  2. Great post James, and thanks for pointing me to this new venture.
I originally came over from BI because I just acquired the domain name wordpresspremiumthemes.com and am looking for targeted places to both promote it and get links from, and this site looks like the perfect outlet.

Yes – I know how good is that domain name!

Oh – and the fact that this new site is being run by DiTesco and Michele with one L is just an added bonus!

Thanks again for sharing James, you got some awesome content coming out of everywhere lately.

I actually highlighted your contest post recently as one of my favourites. (see comluv link below)

    Thanks again

    • Thanks Alex for mentioning my articles 🙂 I saw it earlier, but was out of town and was not able to read it. But I, just stopped by and read it… Good stuff.

I fixed Michele’s name and they do have a great site and I plan on doing more WordPress articles in the future. So Hopefully I will be able to use the site more often or at least find some great articles to read…

      • Hey James
Just to clarify – I call Michele ‘Michele with one L’ (long running joke between us) so this was not a correction on the spelling (I actually didnt even notice LOL)

Just wanted to make sure you know I wasn’t being a stickler or anything.

Again great post – I have managed to add another 50 likes since implement dlvr.it!

  3. sounds nifty, i’ll have to check it out. i have some posts i can submit 😀 hopefully they’ll accept them!

  4. Hi James. I can’t thank you enough for introducing WPJ to your readers. Michele and I are working hard to add new features as the site grows slowly but surely 🙂 Like you said, it is a WordPress only social site and anyone can submit their stories provided it is WordPress related. There are some real good stories published there now and I do hope that as time goes by, users will find it very useful not only to share their WP stories but also to build relationships with like minded people, and learn from others as well.

Again, thanks a lot for the “push” and all the best.

    • I’m with DiTesco James. Thanks SO much for the wonderful write-up. It is truly appreciated!! You know it takes people like you – committed and generous – to help support sites such as these. I hope to see many more just like you. 😉

As DiTecsco said, it’s a work in progress, but we have lots of ideas up our sleeves and we will be rolling them out over the course of the next few months. Exciting times…

      Once again thanks. Ciao! 😀

  5. These are great WordPress resources – I actually just started digging into a really really solid book on WordPress 3.0. It’s got some really nice code samples, and is written by a few pro WordPress developers (including some from Envato). I’m actually giving away 2 copies of the e-book on my site – check out the details about the e-book and the giveaway here – I think you’ll dig it : http://bit.ly/lq20Ff

  6. Ahhh this is awesome. I love WordPress and blog solely on WordPress tutorials, so this sounds like a good find for me. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I guess WordPress Junkies is gonna be one big network of literally the WordPress junkies.

Great efforts are going into building it up.

  8. What WPJ good of is that it limits itself to WordPress only. that way it will develop as a precious resource for wordpress issues. It will certainly rock on.
