WordPress 2.9.1 Has Been Released

wordpresslogo

Recently I posted a link to a quick fix in WordPress: How to Fix WordPress Ping Once It Stops Working. This bug was created when WordPress was updated 2.9. About 3 weeks later WordPress released WordPress 2.9.1 to correct issues many WordPress webmasters encountered after upgrading to or installing WordPress 2.9

WordPress 2.9.1 fixes 24 annoying bugs listed in WordPress Trac. Of the 24 bugs fixed five of the bugs were listed as having high priority, eighteen have a normal priority, and 1 having low priority.  Webmasters having issues with any of the listed bugs should upgrade to the WordPress 2.9.1.

The latest version of WordPress can be downloaded at the Word Press Download page. I have updated  to 2.9.1 and have not had any issues.

  1. Wonder if it fixed whatever caused my whole site to crash when I tried to upload 2.9 while I was developing my last site, was something with one of my plugins I think, but I just left 2.8.6 on all my sites for now.

I started a new design for a client today so maybe I will test with that one before I do my own sites…. *fingers crossed*

    • Good idea crash a client site before yours… lol;) I didnt have any problems. I bet your issues were the same bug issues. Check The WordPress trac, they give a description for each error. If its not fixed when you update make sure to submit it.

I am actually building a linux box to run a test box for wordpress, and clone my sites and my customers and do testing their before updating.

    • Yeah, the small screen isn't any fun. For the longest time, I had a 15 LCD that my wife bought back when they are the biggest. I had to use that for most of my work until I got my 17inch laptop.
