If you have been using Google Plus Network<\/a>, you know how ugly and hard it is to remember your profile URL. Currently Google Plus doesn\u2019t offer a Google Plus Vanity URL<\/strong>. Currently from what I found about why doesn\u2019t offer a vanity URL, they believe that if they offer vanity URLs it might leave users with Gmail accounts open for spam threats (Still researching this).<\/p>\n

I believe this really shouldn\u2019t be an issue, if you create a vanity URL that isn\u2019t related to your email address then it shouldn\u2019t be a problem. But since they believe it is, we have to find other ways to get short and pretty URLs for our profile accounts. Below is three ways to get a short and easy vanity URL for Google Plus<\/p>\n

1. gplus.to Google Plus Network URL Shortener<\/h2>\n

This is a new service first mentioned on Mashable<\/a> last week. There really isn\u2019t much information about the company and it is not supported by Google. Using this service is up to you. Personally I do not use this service, but from what others say they\u00a0 do use it and it works.<\/p>\n

2. Use Your Old Google Profile URL<\/h2>\n

Another way to create shorter URL is to use your old profiles.google.com URL. Currently Google redirects this link to your Google Plus account. If you do not know this profile link then you are probably out of luck. Google Profiles also redirects to the sign up page for Google Plus.<\/p>\n

3. Us a URL Shortening Service to Create a Short URL<\/h2>\n

The last way to create a short and easy Google Plus URL<\/a>, is to use a URL shortening service. You could take your profile link and shorten it with bit.ly<\/a> or sur.pr<\/a>. It easy to use, you can track the clicks from these services, and these services are already trusted and know services. The only downside to using this service is the link is cloaked and some may not click on it because they can\u2019t see where the link goes.<\/p>\n

Getting a vanity URL for Google Plus isn\u2019t all that important, but if you need one, there are ways to get one. The ones listed here aren\u2019t perfect, but they might work for you.
