Book Review: Problogger Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income
Over the last week I read Darren Rowse’s and Chris Garrett’s book ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income (affiliate). The authors take the reader from the beginning of blogging and what is blogging for money through running a successful blog. Out of all of the tech books I have read, this book was one of the easiest and fastest read for a non fictional book I have ever read. Rowse and Garrett do a wonderful job at sharing their stories and giving advice throughout the book. They get right to the point and give excellent examples of other blogs that have been successful and why they are doing so well. Throughout the book they teach their readers about blogging and how to successfully earn revenue through blogging. Rowse and Garrett go over the topics of;
- Blogging For Money
- Niche Blogging
- Setting Up Your Blog
- Blog Writing
- Blog Income and Strategies
- Buying and Selling Blogs
- Blog Networks
- Blog Promotion and Marketing
- Secrets of Successful Blogs
- Creating Something Worth While
If you are a new to blogging and thinking about starting a new blog or just starting out in the blogging world, I defiantly would read Problogger and learn more about blogging before getting involved. There are some many things to think about and every pro blogger has their own strategy to starting and running a successful blog. This book is just another way of starting and running a blog. Only difference is that these authors have a proven track record and their sites have a large following.
Over all I learned a lot from reading this book, I think anyone can learn something from Darren and Garretts book, even someone that been blogging for a few years can learn something from the book. For the seasoned blogger this book will make a good reference book and may learn something new.
If your interested and learning more about both authors you check their sites.

Hi James, I read this book as well and learned a lot from it as well.
The only thing in the book I didn't read yet (but plan to very soon) is how to monetize my blog.

One of the greatest advices I have recieved lately is that you shouldn't read and follow those big pro bloggers once you have learned the neccessary basics of blogging.
Why?
Because your head, actually, needs some room for your own unique thoughts and ways. Plus, you have to express your strong ego in your words… But when you have read a book like that.. you are filled with excitement and you naturally want to share that.. you mention ProBlogger again and again – which is a simple and free promotion for a guy, who doesn't even know you
You see..?
This is why I know for sure that I will never ever try to get a book like that

Just placed this on Stumbleupon – thank you for all your recent support!
I do think you should probably blog about one incident in the book that corresponds to your own experience, and any similarities/differences. There may be nothing like this, but I know it’s important we hear more stories about bloggers actually blogging. I feel a few – very few, very positive – stories dominate the narrative.
